Why change?
Why change? For two reasons. Firstly, because although we love the Element Ventures brand it became clear that building enduring brand value would be difficult with a name so widely used. We needed something more unique and there’s not much more unique than 13books.
Secondly, we’re a different business than when we started out in 2019 and, importantly, our future will be shaped by a bigger team who we wanted to feel the connection of building a brand. 13books is an opportunity for the people who have contributed so much to our success to feel connected to a brand at inception.
Why 13books?
So, what’s in a name, 13books? A lot, actually! Our name is taken from the thirteen books of Euclid’s mathematical treatise, The Elements (see what we did there…). Euclid, an ancient Greek mathematician, is regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of mathematics and has always inspired us by the use of simple solutions to complex problems. For those that know us the Euclid – Element – 13books lineage will make a lot of sense.
With our new name, comes a new visual identity. The two overlapping diamonds represent the different elements of our collective coming together: our network and our portfolio. Head to our brand asset page to grab high resolution logo.
But our rebrand is far more than just aesthetics. It is a reflection of our evolving vision, underpinned by our continued commitment to delivering the best possible partnership for those that have trusted us with their capital and those that have chosen to partner with us on their fintech journey.
Our new brand encapsulates everything we are trying to be; quite simply we strive to be the partner of first choice for fintech founders in Europe. It’s a symbol of our commitment to being bold ourselves, as we continue our mission to back our bold founders.
