We are hiring Community Lead

We are growing platform team at Element Ventures [now 13books] and are looking for Community Lead to join our Head of Platform Joanna Wlazlak. You will have an opportunity to establish meaningful connections with our portfolio founders, curate and execute tailored events, maintain consistent and impactful communication, and serve as a vital bridge within our network.

Community Lead

We’re seeking a Community Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping strategy whilst driving engagement. In this role, you will establish meaningful connections with our portfolio founders, curate and execute tailored events, maintain consistent and impactful communication, and serve as a vital bridge within our network. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the direction of the Element Ventures [now 13books] community, driving impact for founders, operators, Limited Partners, and our extended network alike.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and driving high-quality community events, in the UK and Europe, from conception to completion
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard
  • Coordinate, update, and find new vendors/partners and maintain an active relationship with them
  • Own pre and post-event communication and gather feedback to gain insights
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and documentation
  • Act as a super-connector between portfolio founders, advisors, and Limited Partners as a catalyst for growth
  • Immerse yourself in understanding the individual and collective pain points experienced by founders
  • Leverage data-driven insights to inform topics and themes for future events and content planning.

Requirements:

  • Experience in planning, organising, and executing events, including meetups, workshops, and networking sessions
  • Strong project management skills including budgeting, vendor/partner coordination, and logistical planning.
  • Ability to engage and connect with diverse stakeholders, including founders, investors, and industry experts alike
  • An exceptional communicator with a knack for crafting compelling content, including event invitations, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy and quality of materials and communications.
  • Ability to think creatively and propose new ideas to drive growth and engagement through community.
  • Proficiency in using data and metrics to measure the success and impact of community initiatives and events.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the FinTech industry and a commitment to its growth and development

In-depth interview with Shiv Brodie (from Found who is helping us with the search) 1 hour (virtual) Exploring relevant experience in addition to core competencies for this role. October
Introduction to Element Ventures [now 13books] with Joanna  Wlazlak Head of Platform, Element Ventures [now 13books] 45 minutes (in-person) Building on the initial interview, Joanna will dig into strengths and areas for development. There will also be an opportunity to learn more about us and this role and to answer your burning questions.  end October to early November
Task presentation 1 hour (In-person preference) We will ask you to put your skills to action. It will be a relatively quick task to see how do you think and approach end-to-end delivery of the strategy. November
Final interview with our Partners  TBC (ideally coffee)  We will see if you are a culture fit and expose you to a wider team at Element Ventures [now 13books].  end November to early December
